Hookworm

Hookworm
This microscopic blood sucking worm lives in the intestines. It can cause serious bleeding.

A thick round worm only 2cm long which lives in the dogs small intestine.

The hookworm larvae may invade the skin causing dermatitis. The main cause of infection is ingestion of the larvae.

May cause diarrhoea and since the worm lives in the blood they can also cause anaemia. The hookworm can be controlled by strict hygiene measures and regular worming.
