While this site is dedicated to the Westie as a family member, you will want your Westie to look good. Grooming is an essential part of bringing up a Westie, however don't get carried away with everything you have read about "Show Dogs"

You have a Pedigree Westie, but is he registered with the Kennel Club?, does he come from a long line of show winners ?

When you purchase a Westie, his parents must be registered with the kennel club, if you want your pup registered, the breeder needs to do that in his name, then give you the "transfer of ownership" papers, which you will use to transfer the pup registration into your name.

Showing is not something I would recommend you get evolved with, from feedback I have received from many ex-show people, the industry is geared up to make money, promote dog foods, and other dog products....

This site does not promote Westie's as a show dog, only family members...
