[Index] [Puppies] [Housebreaking] [Paper Training] [Obedience] [Keywords] [Walking] [Behaviour] [Toys] [Barking] [pups]

What Your Dog is Trying to Tell You

  • Continuous rapid barking,  "Someone is coming into our territory
  • Barking in rapid strings of three or four with pauses in between, "Intruder near our territory"
  • Two sharp short barks, "Hello there"
  • Single sharp short bark, "Stop that"
  • Single yelp, "Ouch"
  • Series of yelps, "I'm hurting"
  • Rising bark, "This is fun"
Study your Westie's barking habits, see what you can learn from them, you never know when his communication could prove to be very handy. He can let you know when he's in pain, alert you to an intruder, or just make you laugh with his wooof wooof. Dogs bark, that's what they do, don't think for one moment you can stop them :)-
