Temporary Internet Files
When you visit a site for the first time, everything you see is
downloaded and saved on your PC. The next time you visit the same page (And
nothing has changed) the page will load from your PC and not from the site.
Boo ! as this never works as it should, sometimes I update pages and they
just don't show. There is also a limit on how much can be saved on your hard
drive, to check its settings in Internet Explorer select Tools >
Internet Options
From there you can "Delete Files" (Clears out old stuff) and "Settings"
where you can select how much to store. There is also settings on how it
should work on your visits, default is Automatically.
However there is a problem, your ISP may also have a cache (See
Proxy)
If your getting page not found often, or some pages have missing pictures
it helps to delete these files now and then, and start from fresh. You can
view the contents on your PC (Windows XP) at the following location.
C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files (YourName your PC name)
Deleting these files regular may help with some problems.
