Active X
Have you sometimes visited a site and seen a yellow bar pop up in your
browser, telling you that an Active X control wants to install. Like you, I
mostly block them, and add the site to my "Un trusted List" :)-
However there are times when you need to install Active X controls, like
when you visit Microsoft Update
Recently a "Fix" (If you can call it that) was provided by Microsoft that
caused false alerts, for example when a private message was available in our
forum, a sound file played (Instead of a pop up) and this triggered
the Active X warning. The home page here also played a sound file, in fact
its been playing since 1998, this also triggered this warning. (Woof
Woof)
Again this site does not install any active X controls, and if you do get
a active X warning, on any page, you should let me know, just to make sure
that nobody has tampered with anything here.
