Lymphoma Diary
I've decided to make a diary of Scamps treatment, and hope I will be updating it for many years to come. I'm thinking perhaps it may help others, but do remember that Westies and all dogs are individuals. There may be sad times ahead, you cannot cure cancer, but you can try to keep it at bay, and I'm trying very hard to extend the life of Scamp by as long as I can, and without any suffering.

tablets to give him. Prednisolone 5Mg, 4 tablets a day Endoxana 50Mg, 1 tablet every 3 days |
| Prednisolone is a corticosteroid, Prednisolone works by preventing or reducing inflammation. It is used to treat a number of conditions that are characterised by excessive inflammation. | ||

I've been giving Scamp Hills prescription diet canine n/d, I've read and been told by the vet its going to help. Scamp is now 10.04Kg at the start he was 10.0Kg and has put on some weight. The steroids are making eat more, before Bobby would eat his main meal within a minuet, but Scamp never finished it and took up to an hour to eat it. Now Scamp is eating faster than Bobby. Scamp is also looking for snacks in between meals. While I am watching his weight, I'm letting him eat as much as he wants for the time being. |

| Trying to keep cost down, so getting prescription for Prednisolone and Endoxana, so I can buy them cheaper. For example the vet is charging me £0.62 each for Endoxana, at a chemist on the internet they are £0.17. The vet is charging a lot of gowns, Gloves, hat, and other disposable things, so I'm also looking to but these on the internet also. Scamps Lymph node lumps are now half the size as they were. | ||
 As
you can see, Scamp is looking very well, if you didn't know he had this
illness you would think he was in the best of health. Bobby is also
looking well, and I'm making sure is isn't loosing out, he also gets the
Hills prescription diet canine n/d.Today 26Th April, it feels like a normal day, Scamp and Bobby are playing chaise in the garden, digging up the flower beds, and having a good time. Benjamin (Grandson) is hear today also, and Scamp looks forward to playing with the bubble machine with him. |

lumps, he also had a blood test this time, and all is fine. Prednisolone 5Mg, 2 tablet every 3 days Endoxana 50Mg, 1 tablet every 3 days |
| Have purchased all supplies, its a bank holiday Monday (04 May 2009) so have to wait for them to come | ||
| Saturday 02 May 2009 | Little unwell | Scamp got a little diarrhoea today and was sick. I don't know if this has anything to do with the treatment as its happened before, usually just for a day. |
| Sunday 03 May 2009 | All Well | Scamps fine today, and back to his normal self, eating and drinking to make up from yesterday I think :) |

| Sunday 10 May | All is well | Scamp had his forth treatment Wednesday, and while most lumps have gone down, there is one lump we are watching. Another 4 weeks of weekly treatment before switching to every 2 weeks, so hope that lump will be gone in the next 2 weeks. |
| Wednesday 17 May | Blood count down | No treatment this week, given antibiotics, and we have to have another blood test next visit to make sure his white blood cells are back to normal. |
| Wednesday 24th May | Chemotherapy Drip | Blood cells back to normal, treatment
continues, but the lump isn't going away. Prednisolone 5Mg, 4 tablet every day Endoxana 50Mg, 1 tablet every 3 days |
| Sunday 31st May | Lump shrinking | Sickness and diarrhoea, not sure if its the Hills prescription N/D food that's causing this, or the treatment. But the lump is shrinking. Scamp is still bouncing around and still seams to be coping ok. |

Scamp not very well today, sleeping, generally under the weather. So took him to the vet. Had high temperature, else all seams ok, might have an infection. |
| Tuesday 16th June 2009 | Hospital | Scamp was rushed into hospital last night at 10:00PM
breathing was very erratic, and he was in pain. He's been on a
antibiotic drip all night, and this morning they did a chest x-ray, but
found nothing. He's hanging on as best as he can, I feel helpless not
being with him, and hope he will pick up today. So far we don't know what's wrong, this could be that his white blood cells are low, and he had become very ill, but its only a guess now. |
| Tuesday 16th June 2009 | Passed Away | He didn't
stand a chance did he, despite what was done, despite all the talking,
my little boy passed away today at 2:00Pm. Bobby lost his brother, we
lost a son, no words can describe our loss. He will be cremated today and we will have his ashes, which will be scattered with our first Bobby 11 years ago.. God bless you Scamp |
