West Highland White KennelsSo your going on holiday, and want to put your dog in a kennel ? why ? why cant you pick a holiday where your Westie can also come along, especially the outdoor type of holiday. Camping, caravan, campers, RV's your love the holiday and so will your dog. Stop and think a while, there is going to be a lot of dogs in one place, are all those dogs healthy free from problems, do all owners vaccinate every year? Sadly the answer is no, so there is always a risk that your Westie will catch something from another dog. Some kennels insist you have a kennel cough vaccination record, although this is a step in the right direction it does not remove the risk of catching kennel cough, or other air bound diseases. I am totally against kennels, they are a unnecessary risk to your dogs health, get a neighbour to look after your dog, or a member of your family, look up a dog minding service in your area. Kennels can also be a very upsetting place for dogs, so there he was sleeping in his comfy chair, when you take him out for a run in the car, then promptly dump hi in a strange location, with lots of dogs barking !
