Other species of Fleas

Other species found especially on dogs are

• Pulex irritants
• Echidnophaga gallinacea (birds)
• Spilopsyllus cuniculi (rabbits)

Flea infestation can cause

Anemia, Tapeworm infections (dipylidium caninum), Skin disease by mechanical irritation and active migration on the skin in Sensitised animal, FAD, fleas allergic dermatitis through allergens in flea saliva, humans can get bitten too
