Don't know what they're called elsewhere, but here they are called nettles.
Those prickly things dogs have an affinity for sticking their noses into and
coming home looking like they had been hit by a porcupine.
Most people attempt to pick those nasty little things out of their dog's coat
with their fingernails. Sadly, the harder one pulls, the more those drat things
just dig in. Or people will use scissors and end up with a dog who looks moth
eaten. Forget either one.
Solution:
Put the dog in the bathtub. Using a shower hose, or a jug of water, using skin
temperature water - warm not hot - shower/pour the water over the area covered.
Voila! All those pricklies just drop off like so much melting snow.
Dry dog as per usual.
