Making a startClean and sterilise your grooming tools, before and after use, especially if you have to cut the hair of another dog, any skin problems from the first dog will quickly be passed to the second dog. If you take your Westie to a groomer, don't be afraid to ask if their instruments are sterilised before they go anywhere near your Westie. You would be surprised how many professional groomers don't even think about this, and pass on so many skin problems this way. Most tools can be washed in disinfectant like Detol, never use bleach ! |
