Screen Savers
Windows 98 screen savers have the extension "scr" and must be placed
at c:\windows\system
Windows XP Users may need to place them at
c:\windows\system32
Screen savers are available for download in 3 formats .zip, .exe and
.scr
- The "zip" format is the smallest, if you already have a program
like WinZip installed on your system then this is the one you should download.
Inside the zip file is your screen saver.
- The "exe" is a self extracting zip file, this program will
unpack the screen saver into the correct location (C:\windows\system)
XP Users may need to move it to C:\Windows\System32. If you are unsure this is the
one you should download.
- The "scr" is the screen saver which has not been compressed, if you
have a fast connection or don't like downloading executable files then you should
use this type.
Setting Screen Saver
From your desktop double click
"My Computer" double click "Control Panel"
double click "Display" click the (Tab) called
"Screen Savers" click
the black arrow and select the name of the screen saver from the list.
You can also right click anywhere on your desktop and select properties,
then select the screen saver TAB and choose the screen saver you downloaded.
