Snap

Everyone I know, will be able to play this game with just a few words on the rules. You just need to match two cards, some people also call this game "Slap Jack" as it involves slapping the cards face up on top of each other and shouting Snap if you match any.
You start by dividing the full pack of cards up among your players, then each player places his pack face down on the table. Each player then takes it in turn to quickly remove the top card from his pack and place it face up on the existing cards in the centre of the table. No cheating and looking at what card you have, everyone should see the card at the same time.
There are several variations to this game, one is to be the first to put his hand on the pile when someone turns over a jack, but the most popular version is to match a pair, like two Kings, or two three's. To start playing the game, the dealer places one card in the centre of the table face up, then in a clockwise direction the next player slaps a card from his pile face up on top of the last card.
Too add to the excitement you can shout out the name of the card you placed on the centre pile, this making it harder for peoples reactions to shout when there is a pair. Another variation of this game is to shout out a card name before you place it in the centre pile, if it happens to be the card you shouted then you or other players also have the opportunity to slap the pack.
The most often played Snap game is just to match the last card that was placed, shouting snap when there is a match and getting your hand on the centre pile before anyone else, the winner of that round then takes the cards from the centre and places them under his/her pile.
The final winner is someone who has all the cards...
But another version :) is the loser gets all the cards :) you decide the rules, or make them up as you go along. This is a good funny game and comes with a lot of slapping... You can buy special Snap cards, they are more family type cards where there is a theme, there might be 4 dogs, 4 cats etc, making it easier to match a pair, Bob the Builder, Harry Potter what ever is popular at the time.
