Fungal (Supplement page)
Bacterial, fungal and yeast organisms are notoriously obnoxious skin and
coat pathogens, you might spot circular patches of hair loss, often called
"Ringworm" That's right, ringworm is a Fungal organisms (Microsporum canis)
Contrary to popular belief, Ringworm is the collective name given to
fungal infections of the hair and skin which can be caused by a series of
fungal species. Thus, Ringworm is better described as a condition, not a
specific disease with only one specific cause.
Blastomycosis, histoplasmosis, coccidiomycosis, and cryptococcosis are
the four most common fungal diseases, Any infectious disease that weakens
the skin's immune system can allow a Malassezia infection to begin. Animals
that have an underlying condition such as a bacterial infection, allergy, or
seborrhoea can have irritated skin that is then susceptible to becoming
infected with Malassezia
One after another ? Zygomycosis, Aspergillosis, Pythiosis (Deadly),
Sporotrichosis are all fungal diseases.
