Food AllergySome Westie's suffer from food allergies and can suffer severe skin allergy, even at their paw pads. Mostly this is down to what is added to the food. If there is one thing that the sites visitors report more than anything else, is the allergic reactions to commercial food, with additives, colourings, preservatives and even the vitamins added. Apart from seeing how well Bobby and Scamp thrive on "Human Food" Westie people from around the world are reporting a big change in their dogs heath by switching to human food. (Human food, High quality fresh meat, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit etc) Nutritional Dermatitis, correction of these problems don't take much thought, but even today there are many vets and pet owners who really believe the "Complete and Balanced" statement on pet food labels. Sadly for many dogs, they live their life in bad health because their owners fed them "Dog food" and feel secure in doing so because of that label on the packet or bag. In the last 9 years, I have known of thousands of Westie's whose health has changed dramatically, and their owners were shocked with the remarkable difference in their pets, by the simple act of providing their pet with a high quality human food diet. A "Human Food" diet (But mostly meat) seldom, if at all contribute to the skin and coat allergies often seen in Westie's who are fed on "Dog Food", dry or tin, there is no difference, its garbage !
