Week two

Wednesday 18.01.2006
We took Loulou, Bruce and pups back to the vets today. Explained once again their symptoms and eventually we were given some antibiotics for Bruce and Lactade and Antiprobiotic for the pups. Pups are still feeding well from mum and mum is still eating me out of house and home. I?ve been weighing the pups every day and they all gaining weight.
Day nine
Thursday 19.01.2006
Not a good day, Loulou has not been herself, she had loose stools as well. Another visit to the vets? This time I was determined to get to the bottom of the problem so asked to see a different vet. This one was more interested and asked loads of questions from how often are the pups feeding to what Loulou and Bruce have been eating since the pups were born. He gave them all a good examination. The vet prescribed some more Lactade and Antiprobiotic for Loulou to take for a week and give her chicken and rice, two tablespoons of each?little but often. I am so glad I asked for a second opinion.
Day ten
Friday 20.01.2006
Things are looking much better today; mind you I?ve lost count the amount of dog bedding I have washed. (Lol) The loose stools are becoming less and less. Pups are feeding well from Loulou. It's like a rat race when the milk comes through. They suckle for about 10 minutes then they all go rigid, so we guess that's when the full flow of milk comes through. Although the pups have been under the weather they still look so healthy.
